Overview

Legallybetter is an independent site established in 2008 to provide a quick and reliable way to find a good local lawyer or find a solicitor for both private individuals and companies/organizations.

Its unique feature is that it brings independent consumer reviews and ratings of solicitors from around the UK together in one place to enable other law firm users to select their legal advisers with confidence.

These reviews and ratings have come from unsolicited feedback to Legallybetter, regular independent consumer and business market research surveys, and client testimonials from law firms. All reviews and ratings are verified and come from genuine clients.

This is not a price comparison site but we focus on service quality and value. Users provide comments on the service they received and also rate the law firm using our "Legal Stars" rating system covering 5 key service criteria:

The Legallybetter Team

Legallybetter has been established by four individuals all with a background in professional services:

Steven Heard, Commercial Relationship Director - Steven joined Legallybetter from HSBC Bank plc. With a successful track record in regulated sales management, Steven brings many years of experience in client relationship management and sales processes. A member of the Personal Finance Society with over 21 years experience in financial planning, Steven believes in the importance of understanding the client to form a long lasting relationship.

Also, Steven is the co-owner of Your Call magazine which brings consumers and local businesses together with a community focus.

Jon Hepburn, Managing Director - Jon Hepburn is the founder of The Fedora Consultancy, a specialist provider of common sense and cost-effective marketing and business development advice for smaller law firms. A member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Chartered Marketer with over 20 years experience within a variety of marketing disciplines, Jon is passionate about the benefits a planned approach to marketing can have for 'high street' law firms.

David Mort, Client Marketing Director- Co-founder and owner of IRN Research, David is a very experienced market research professional having started his career in the mid-1970s. David brings his experience of running various client satisfaction surveys and strategic studies for law firms and other companies to Legallybetter. IRN Research, established in 1991, is a full-service research agency and a full member of the Market Research Society (MRS). David's research work has given him a detailed insight into the trends shaping the changing legal services sector.

Dominic Moss, Financial Director - Sole Practitioner solicitor and APIL Senior Litigator. Dominic is also a member of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management. Dominic is, in addition, Managing Director of Legal Marketing Solutions a company set up by him five years ago as a response to many and varied threats to the 'high street' legal market. Dominic is a big believer in the benefits of keeping legal practices on the high street.
